Perfectly cooked pizza, slight crunch and nice crisp on the edges, folds and cracks just like it should.
Cheese was cooked perfectly, almost like it was broiled right at the end, wonderful, not runny or stringy.
Roma tomatoes and toppings all worked together, and a homemade pesto just nailed it.
The BEST slice of classic Italian-style pizza I’ve had in Berkeley.
Great goat cheese sandwich! I enjoyed a casual political discussion with the more than amiable cashier! Fun little pizza joint well worth a 15 minute wait.
Great service with a guy whose been doing this for years, the place excells in toppings and crispy crusts, but, the real diamond in the rough is the sandwiches. Goats cheese, salad leaves, cold cured meats, artichokes. The sandwiches in here vastly outdo the meager fare of the subway next door and deserve a try from anyone who likes good food.
The blasé libertarian propaganda plastered on every available surface notwithstanding, this is one of the best pizza places in Berkeley and is sadly underrated. Very authentic and delicious thin crust. Daily specials are fantastic—get a whole pie! The people are always interesting and worth talking to.
The biggest downside is having to watch the uncultured hordes inexplicably pile into the subway across the food court while you wait for your pizza in an often empty room.
This pizza joint is located pretty much on Cal Berkeley campus. It's a small hole-in-the-wall place that seems to be made for college students. The menu is simple, with a few very unique pizza options and drinks only from the soda fountain. The pizza we ordered and ate was topped with banana peppers, goat cheese, arugula and thinly sliced meat of some sort, then drizzled with balsamic. The flavor combo proved delicious, and the dough was pretty good but not out-of-this-world. Seating is on bar stools over looking the street of the entrance to the college, so we enjoyed observing the college kids walking about with determined and hopeful looks on their faces at the start of the school year. Come here for dependable pizza in a non-romanticized location.
