My first ever Korean-style hot dog did not disappoint! It was so, sooo yummy. I would highly recommend Seoul Hotdog for a snack or even dessert. Don’t pass on the optional sugar coating! Staff was friendly. ????????????

My last evening in bay area heading back home to sin city after valentine's thinking why not give it a go. Seoul Hotdog is similar to Myungrang Hot Dog and Chung Chun Rice Dog in many ways just not as big might even be the first ever shop to open for all I know. They are situated inside Hearst Food Court were The Snack Shack used to be right across the street from UCB a little over ten minutes walk from main drag shattuck ave. Minimalist decor almost barebone seemed to do enough to get by without excessive design entertainment is korean news and kpop on television.

Menu is identical to rivals mentioned above with the exception of price, it's about USD$.50-75 more. If you want to add potato it's extra USD$1.50. I almost left without trying anything, but I opted with squid ink hotdog (most popular) anywhere you go just to see what they got going here. Service is friendly not too busy, they showed enthusiasm towards their work you can tell by their demeanor and who can resist samples? Now, I'm not sure if the type of oil or rice flour used has anything to do with it's color and texture might even be longer frying time than recommended, texture was darker than the usual golden brown that I'm used to. Although it was crunchy, the sausage and gooey mozzarella had good flavors granulated sugar didn't stick on as well though. Squid ink batter have the color and look just void of any significant taste I had to drizzle sweet chili and honey mustard sauce to revive it. The shape of it was odd some areas had thicker batter coated than what it appears from a distance it look kinda limp. But it was fully cooked just didn't have that plump golden batter distributed evenly. Overall, it's alright not bad will return again since they're the only player in town serving korean-style hotdog.
