Strings Italian - Livermore

The food was good and the portions large. The wine and beer selection were limited, but better than average.
The interior decor was the biggest drawback. There was a harshness to the tables and chairs, it's all black inside, hard surfaces and the open exposed interior made the sounds of the restaurant carry and amplify. That said, the tables were far enough apart that it did not feel like we were crammed in.
The food and service was good enough that we all left stuffed and happy.

We frequently eat out and tried Strings in Livermore for the first time on Sat night. There were 5 of us. While the restaurant was nearly full, they were able to quickly put together a table for us. Service was great and all of our meals were excellent, which is unusual for us given our customized orders (no onions, sub this and leave out that). I had the Seafood Stew (aka Cioppino). The red broth was a little thicker than most Cioppinos, but it was very tasty. All of the fish, muscles and shrimp were fresh and the meal was served while still steaming. I highly recommend. We will put this on our bi-weekly circuit.

The dinner salad was mediocre, the dressing was good though, the minestrone soup tasted "boxed" , but our entrees were delicious. Very flavorful. I had cheese tortellini with a creamy tomato sauce, soo good. My husband had a pizza which he declared as the best he's ever had. The bread is fresh. Desserts are very good too. Try the lemon cake or bread pudding, we enjoyed both. Prices are quite reasonable. The staff are attentive and the restaurant is clean.

*Update on Strings. Their salad is much better now. They added raisins and carrots and a couple other items and the greens are tastier. We tried the lobster bisque was quite good. Everything else is as before: really good!

Strings is one place that you always feel at home and they make sure to make you feel that you are the most important person/family that walked through the doors of strings.
The food is fantastic and so is the service!
Easy to get to and plenty of good parking.
I don't usually give five stars and I hardly leave feedback.

It was my first time here and...Yummy yummy yummy! I got the salmon and it was DELISH!! You can taste the quality of ingredients in each dish. So much flavor. Staff is amazing!! Very nice and attentive. I will definitely be back! Love this place! O. And great atmosphere! I really can't say enough positive things about Strings!
