Red Boy Pizza Oakland-Montclair

We live in the neighborhood so we do our best to support the restaurant. We've met the owners and they are delightful but years later I think I'm giving up. Every time we go there is some sort of an issue. Wrong items, missing items, ridiculously slow service, you name it. Every single time we get take out they screw up the order and have mostly fixed it but why do I need to check every little thing? They have given us credits that were mysteriously missing the next time we come in... Last night we didn't get an online confirmation so we called ahead and was told it was ready. Upon arrival my kid was handed the order and headed out. I was elated it was actually ready but then I realized they didn't give her all the food... ah yes there it is... The food is delicious for sure but it's just not worth it anymore. And our favorite, the garlic cheese bread has gone from 4 large slices to 2 smallish dry crusts of bread (note the penny for scale) for 6 BUCKS?!?

SHORT VERSION- food is good but for the price I'd go elsewhere unless you don't mind not getting what you ordered...

Have exclusively taken food out of this restaurant. PIzzas have sour dough crust which is good Have tried standard sausage and mushroom, greek Pizza with spinach and feta and onions and then a Mediterranean pizza which was my least favorite be cause the ingredients were heavy and difficult to bake.. i usually eat the large pizza over 2 days for several meals. Yes it's expensive, however the quality of the ingredients are quite good. id like you try around the area for equal quality and lower priced alternatives.

Everything was fresh and delicious. Great service, lots of speciality pizzas. Yummy!

I have been back a few other times with someone who quite likes it, and have managed to find an item or two that is decent. The price is just too high for what is such mediocre fare. It's far too bland in general for my taste. No problems with staff or the like. Just the very definition of middle of the road.

A great local pizza place. Very kid friendly. And the pizza is also first rate.
