Masala Cuisine

This place is a gem and I cant think of any places like it. Not quite the traditional restaurant, they offer a take out window or sparse seating in the heart of the kitchen. A kind couple will take your order and then the husband will get down to business making your food. If you opt to eat in, they offer a taste all your dishes before serving so you can confirm the spice level is to your liking. The experience is a lot like eating at a family friend’s home and the food is so so good! My favorites were the lamb biryani and malai kofta

Although tiny, seating at most 14 people, the husband and wife team served the best Indian cuisine. Had garlic naan, lamb saag, lamb curry and a delicious mango juice concoction. Dicey part of Oakland, but we felt safe.

Amazing hole-in-the-wall kind of place. Run by a very nice couple. It is not the traditional dining experience you might be used to, but damn, seriously amazing food. My daughter and I always go back.

Great delicious food the chicken was really tender, rice was perfect, but the nan is frozen ????. Be sure to order ahead. The wait time could be 15 to 30 min before they actually start making your food. I waited about 30 min before they took my order. I was served in about 45 min. Which is why the 4 stars.

The care they put in the cooking is just outstanding. Once we placed our order, every item was made from scratch. They asked how spicy we wanted our food. Once it was almost ready they brought a little to our table so we could check if the spice needs to be adjusted. More power to this couple.
