The Veg Hub

I just moved to Oakland last year Thanksgiving from Concord. Trying to find new yummy Vegan food. This place is amazing!!!!!!! The food is full of flavor. Mac and Cheese, Philly Cheese Steak, Cheese Steak Fries and the greens. Soo good. Great customer service.

First time here: everything is vegan! Staff was super friendly, food was spot on. When you walk in, the employees call out "welcome, family!" which was totally sweet and unexpected. You order at the counter and then wait at a table for your food. I got two plates, so we could try everything. The "steak" was so good, and the fried "chicken" was 5 balls of popcorn chicken, with a good crunch. The candied sweet potatoes were sweet with a buttery consistency, the "mac n cheeze" had good seasoning, and the kale salad was so good I'll go back just for that.

Caveat: it took a long time. From the time I ordered to the time I got food was just shy of 30 minutes. This may be due to the fact that it was busy (5:30pm) and that I ordered steak and chicken which had to be cooked to order. That being said, the atmosphere was friendly. There are Uno cards at each table and a couple of regulars invited me to play a round, which was more entertaining than I was expecting.

P.s. they have vegan donuts, I believe $3.26 the cashier said. I'll try those in the future. I'll definitely be back, but I'll put a lot more money on the meter. Closes at 8pm.

This place is great the food a had was wonderful. The bathrooms and tables was clean. The staff is super cool and they make you feel welcomed. The kitchen is open and they make everything in front of you. I had the fried chicken with mac and cheese and greens. The food was just amazing. I had the cheeze steak fries. This place makes vegan cheese taste great.

The sandwich & fries are very tasty. I chose the Philly cheese steak barbeque. The staff was very friendly & family like. Nice to see a diverse staff at a vegan eatery. I wish they were open on weekends, but if you can make it during the week it's definitely worth it.

As a part time vegetarian I am always looking for ways to cut out more meat. The Veg Hub helps when I am looking for a good sandwich without any meat. The hours of this place are a little strange because they also teach cooking classes out of the restaurant, so make sure they are open before u go.
