Elephant Sushi

Solid. Absolutely solid.

I just had some fantastic sushi. Far beyond the quality of anything you are able to get in Downtown Oakland.

There are two negative reviews but, I’d attribute them to the staff ironing out the process since it is a relatively new restaurant. As someone who has opened stores in the past, I can tell you that it is very rare to nail everything down at the beginning. You have to come across these errors in order to correct them and from what I can tell, they have.

Also, did I read, “The manager saw us standing outside and refused to change their policy”? Is this for real? Are people that entitled now that they feel like they can just walk in and change the rules?

The service was great, my server (I believe his name is Emmanuel) was great and was really attentive.

I’d say this is a great spot for a date as it’s small and more on the intimate side (not meant for large groups).

They even gave me a blank piece of paper to leave them any feedback.

That said, I plan to go again and this is now my go to spot in the Downtown Oakland area.

I’ve been coming to Elephant for 6 years, since I lived in Russian Hill. I have yet to find better quality sushi, flavors, or people in the Bay. I am beyond thrilled with the new Oakland opening and can say with confidence that they continue to deliver on excellence.
