Went there because of two things: the fact that they make Quesabirria in Oakland, and because of the Facebook ad for the free burrito.

Verdict: Skip the free burrito, just get the Quesabirria. Don't get the quesadilla birria, just order the normal ones.

Quesabirria: 5/5 - absolutely everything it wants to be, should be, and looks to be. Tasteful, delicious, savory.

Normal Carne asada burrito: 1/5 - I know it's free, and it's the normal one and not a super so there's no sour cream or guac or salsa, but a good burrito should be able to stand on its own. Instead it's just overly salty and the flavor isn't there.

Quedadilla birria: 3/5 - you'd think it'd just be a very large quesabirria but it's not. Good for splitting between 3-5 friends as an additional serving of cheese and meat to your main order, but overwhelming for one person.

Like there are a lot of amazing burritos in Oakland, especially from taco trucks, but this ain't it for a burrito. Again, big caveat for it not being a super, but the rice is unforgivable and the beef was weird.

Go there for the fancy quesabirria and nothing else.

Come here specifically for a the quesabrillas. Hands down some of the best in the bay.

No frills, kinda place that precovid was a nightclub/bar as well. It takes a long time if you order quesabrillas but there are signs all over that say that, and its totally worth the wait.

It is a Mexican restaurant on international Boulevard, a little past high street in Oakland. I noticed it because of its advertising, and its location in front of the 1T bus stop. I have occasionally thought about checking out the place, and tonight was the best time. I ordered 2 of what they called quesabirrias, which was exactly what it sounds like, only they fry the tortilla with the meat and cheese, which would have been better with one of the sauces which came with the wings, which I also ordered. I went for the Korean BBQ Sauce, which was what I expected. They have quite a few other items I'll be interested in trying on a future visit.

Great friendly and clean place to go for good Mexican food. I went to the grand opening and LOVED it! The owner, Valentino was super busy but took time to go around and speak with everyone there. Since then, even though I no longer live in Oakland, I make efforts to get over there for their food. The prices and servings are fair and you will never go wrong choosing to eat at La Frontera's. I have to try out their Wednesday Wing specials.
