Great little diner...owners are warm, friendly and inviting. I recommend highly!
This cute little lunch/breakfast place just opened up a few blocks from my house and I have to say it is a gem. Walking distance in my neighborhood is amazing. The food was fantastic and the portions for the price were huge. I will definitely return frequently to eat here!!
"See you tomorrow!" -Hannah (to every one of her customers)
Oh, how I'm so glad to be hearing those words again! Nibs is my favorite diner in the East Bay. Forget the overpriced hipster joints - I want all the diner classics and big portions and reasonable prices, with the "mom & pop" feel (and Hannah and Alex are indeed a mom and pop).
I used to eat at Nibs in El Cerrito nearly every week. And now they've re-opened in my favorite city, in a location that was in desperate need of a reasonable neighborhood diner. They've brought back the same menu, along with many of the same things that made the original great - family atmosphere, crunchy bacon, soft and slightly chewy pancakes, killer burgers, gigantic omelettes, breakfast plates that come with RICE, and that secret Italian dressing they put on their salads. Don't sleep on the teriyaki plates either - beef, chicken, or salmon - they are my "go to" plates when I'm hungry.
My favorite thing about Nibs is that it's like sports, fighting, or puzzle video games - it has replay value! You can truly come here again and again without a lot of hoopla, or feeling like you paid the extra, oft-present $10 hipster tax.
