Shan Dong

This place is one of my favorites! Good prices, big dishes and the staff members are always welcoming.

Wanted to try thick chewy fresh to order noodles from here. Ordered the hot spicy chow mein and special shandong dumplings (pork & veg).

Both were underwhelming, notably the dumpling filling definitely lacked seasoning. Noodles were nothing to write home about.

Service was quick, safely distanced and excellent. You can still see them making the noodles from the window (Oct2020). No seating.

This restaurant has the best noodles in all of Oakland. I love that you can see how the noodles are made from the window. I am not a huge fan of their dumplings as I find the dough to be too thick. The filling is pretty good though.
The staff is pretty friendly and accommodating. If you are with a small group and you do not want to wait too long be ready to sit in a large table with other patrons you do not know. This has always been great in my experience. It's always fun to get to know other people when food is the center of it all.

Delicious dumplings, green beans & the garlic noodles were insanely delicious. Super nice very humble staff! Always my number one stop when in Oakland.

Everything we ordered from Shandong was absolutely delicious! We tried the Hot Spicy Chow Mein with handmade noodles. This dish was so good and not too spicy - it had just the right amount of kick. We ordered their popular Shan Dong Chicken, which is a fried chicken with a sauce that was on the sweeter side.
