“Great buffet options, dishes taste so good, cheap price. Owner really nice guy as well. Only issue would be that waitresses never refill your water. Otherwise, perfect lunch option of you're in the area.”

“Great food. EXCELLENT staff. A little more expensive than I'm used to but in reality I think it's priced fairly compatible with other places. Don't know if it's "authentic " food or not.”

“Very cute and well decorated Mexican place to eat Small 10 spot parking lot, but also street parking Large portions for burritos - DELICIOUS Variety of drinking options alcoholic and non Quick wait for food - we did come around 1pm Friendly staff, very willing to answer questions Small dessert specials Lots of decorations and lights, comforting atmosphere Guacamole and other condiments proved via squeeze bottle, never seen that before but it was fun! To go and take out options Easy to read menu Expensive, but average priced given the location and quality :) TV in the back for news etc Bathrooms provided”

“It's not a bad joint. Just wish the constancy would stay put. When they first opened, they were great, but now it's just a place for older folks to gather and enjoy themselves. The food is still delicious, when they actually have the kitchen running. Very pricey though.”

“Bread is great. Baked goods are a bit lacking. Hard to make a gluten free bagel. They are more like tough discs. The double chocolate cookies are awesome. The staff are stuck up and extremely pretentious. Prices are off the wall expensive for baked goods.”

“Delicious and nutrient packed foods. Love the cozy vibe! I had the Split Pea Kale soup served with wild rice, sesame oil, coconut flakes and tamari and it was so yummy! On another note, seating is quite limited so it may not be the best for larger parties of 2+”

“Barcote is the absolute best of all the many Ethiopian restaurants I've eaten at. First, the food is delicious, served beautifully, and quickly. Each of the wonderful ladies that served us or cooked up this feast, treated us like family and actually cared that we were happy. They were attentive to the gluten intolerance of one of our party and served extra injera on the side. Be sure to try some of the incredible tea. We ate too much to have room for dessert. But next time, which will be real soon, I have to taste the amazing looking pastries.”

“I've been coming here for many years, and the food is outstanding every time. The best Ethiopian I've ever had, and every item is delicious and perfectly prepared. However, the service has been routinely bad for the last two or three years. I frequently wait a long time to order, run out of water, wait a long time for the check, and then wait a long time for them to pick up my payment. I love this place so much, but they really make it a slow experience. The food is just so good I can't go anywhere else for my Ethiopian fix. Edit 2019- The management really seems to have taken the complaints regarding service seriously. The last times I've been here in winter 2018 into the new year the service has been excellent. The food is still absolutely fantastic every time.”

“First time in Oakland and we saw that this place has so many reviews so we decided to try out this spot. The food was delicious. The dishes were so flavorful. It does get very packed but service was awesome. The waiters we're so friendly and attentive even though they were very busy. I would definitely recommend this place.”

“Fries are vegan and delicious—made to-order, piping hot, and uniquely deep fried. Facilities are extremely well-kept and amenable. They also serve impossible burgers! I look forward to trying one sometime soon... will post accordingly.”

“Good neighbourhood coffee shop with simple eats (bagel sandwiches, &c). Diverse customer base. Good seating & ample work space. Music tends toward '80s New Wave & pop, but sometimes ventures into other genres.”

“I forgot my money and only had $3, enough for one tamale. I chose a pork one and it was the biggest, most luscious and tasty tamale I've ever had. Next time I'll see it open I will definitely stop and try other fillings as well.”

“It has been a while, and really hope the food hasn't changed. When I went a few years ago the food was amazing. The enjera has a great sour hit of flavor. Truly amazing food!! Everything I have eaten here is fabulous. Addis is my favorite Ethiopian restaurant.”

“I went there many times when I lived in east bay. Fried chicken is so good. I always order the garlic flavor. Chicken wings are average and chewy.”

“One of the worst KFC experiences I've had was here. Chicken had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp all day. Completely dried out.”

“A very understaffed location. The dining area was dirty (mostly because of diners). Food was what should be expected for a Taco Bell.”

“Good location, nice atmosphere and service. The coffee is tasty, and there are good pastries and breakfast sandwiches to eat. Enough tables to do work. The place feels spacious and the internet is adequate, and the noise level is not too high. Also a good place for socializing.”

“Excellent service! The staff was incredibly friendly, the food came out fast and tasted great, and they let us stay until around an hour after the closing time. I would definitely recommend coming here if you haven't already!”

“Wow!! The food is amazing! The service is just as great! Definitely recommend the chicken and waffles....the chicken is perfectly cooked..crispy, not greasy. And the waffle is light & airy. Felt like I was eating at my Grandmother's table.”

“Quiet and silent subway around berkeley. They have their own parking space.”

“This place is definitely "outside the box" compared to others down the street. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza to go-not huge and I felt that the quality was ok but not mouth watering goodness. I do however love the fact that they are LGBT friendly. Parking was a challenge...more than usual in the area.”
