Scends

To be fair I didn't order anything to eat after the party of 3 I met up with said they were still waiting for their food and it's been just about a HOUR. I just ordered a beer. Thank GOD. I ate before I arrived. On a POSITIVE the Women's bathroom was nice and fairly CLEAN.????

I've been going to Scends since 1993 when they were on Apgar and then when they were on San Pablo.The only place I ever went where I could get a pork chop sandwich the largest fried Chickenwings and the best red beans and rice in the Bay area! My favorite is the wing-dings with red beans and rice the fish is good also and homemade side dishes as well.

Only reason the don't have a 5-star is because this not Formal Dinning 5-Stars would be the Atmosphere and Service in such a situation.

The restaurant gives you dinner at home with a loving family feel. The food is delicious!

This review is long overdue... I don't really write reviews but I find myself writing two really great reviews today.

What can I say... I was glad to hear that they reopened. I've been patronizing the original Scends since they were on San Pablo in Oakland and I've been patronizing the new spot in San Leandro since the first week they reopened. I'm usually there for lunch whenever I'm in the area which is at least once sometimes twice a week. I'm a wing-ding kind of chic so the chicken and the fries of course I have to have my cornbread is what I order.... As well as a pork chop sandwich for my daughter.... always delicious.

Freshly made. Hot and tasty! Fried fish was crispy! Mac-n-cheese, potato salad, & cole slaw were freshly prepared too! It was ALL good. Made to order. Call ahead to get it ready to eat when you arrive. Family-friendly place.
