We had dinner at the Vista Grill at La Contenta Friday evening, July 29, 2022. We thought the food was good. I had the tri-tip nachos, and my wife had the cajun shrimp salad. Although the shrimp was a little salty, she liked the addition of red and green peppers, jack and cheddar cheese, and crispy tortilla strips. We will be back.

Stopped in with a friend for a quick drink and stayed for a second. The gal behind the bar knows what's she's doing. Our bloody Mary's were amazing. We decided we needed a snack too and the specialty fries were memorable and crave worthy, though not ideal for my waistline.

It may seem like your business isn't wanted as it's a golf club/course. Go on in and be pleasantly surprised at a casual, roomy setting. The food is enjoyable. Not the largest selection of items, though, not the largest restaurant. There is no grill or smoke from one. There is a back patio that provides views of the course and some seats inside have views, too.

We had a delightful lunch here. The dining room at this golf course has undergone a lot of changes in management over the years. As of October 2020, the last of them seems to be in the course of getting on its feet. I'm not sure the name 'Vista Grill' still applies. But this iteration has moved decidedly upscale. We found an imaginitive menu, high quality ingredients and conscientious preparation at a place that seems to be on track to become our new favorite local restaurant.

Most of the food is decent. Don't get the tostada though. It sits in a plate of water. Not sure why.

Went 3 times in one week because not many places to eat in this town. Lack of customer service skills seems to be common in this community. Staff here is slow and not very attentive. We didn't complain, but the hostess blamed the establishment for this. Look... I get that you have issues at work. We all do, but I didn't come here to listen to you air the dirty laundry. I came to eat. Those in charge need to get their own s%!+ together. Those not in charge need to be more professional.

Waiting for your check takes forever. Factor that extra time in. Funny part is, we paid in cash (large bill). The waitress brought back all 20's and a 1. Typically we pay 15-20% tip, which would've been around 8 bucks or so, but we can't easily tip you if you don't bring back some smaller bills to tip with.

The waitress was nice and looked like she was struggling. So we didn't want to leave her without tipping. Solution? We had to ask for change and continue waiting.

That's just food serving 101. Bring back the change in a way that better insures you'll get a tip.
