Great food. Huge portions. A little pricey, but once you see how big the portions are, it's well worth it
LOVE IT! A successful black owned business right here in downtown Antioch. The service at this place is always up to par and the weekend entertainment is awesome! And for those of us who opt against meat, there is an option for several scrumptious meatless sides within one order ????
I have patronized SC several times, with family and friends. This past visit was early evening . Only one young lady was working, her heart out.
She assisted us, to our seats, gave us menu;
then rushed to assist other patrons entering.
I notice two to three other staff members grouping and conversing. The only person working was our waitress. I felt heartbroken for her, she had to work the bar. Then accept the new patrons and deliver the meals.
So, what purpose were the other individuals on staff. Were they employees in training- watching what our waitress did?
After our meal, we thanked her. But, questioned the need of the other staff members...to ourselves.
Hella good southern style food. The plates are huge. Comes with an entree, rice with gravy and your choice of 2 sides which are Marconi n cheese, greens, blacked peas and more. They serve delicious corn bread while your waiting. The staff are friendly and beautiful. They're only open on the weekends (maybe Thursdays) and they have live music on Saturdays. They were getting ready to serve a buffet when I was there on a Saturday evening. I can't wait to go back!
Came here on a culinary excursion with a group of friends when I got a hankering for southern fried chicken. We descended upon this place from all parts of the Bay Area and were NOT disappointed - the food was extraordinary! The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and absolutely not greasy whatsoever. We were adventurous and tried the oxtail - yum. Next time, we'll go for the chitterlings. In a nod toward healthy eating, we ordered the Mixed Vegetable Plate (5 sides) ... who were we kidding? The sides were all delicious and that's because they were probably cooked in dollops of butter.
