Buon Appetito

Fantastic service - I felt like our waitress was the owner. The food was delicious and I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the prices were.

On Monday 8 April, we were three couples looking for a place to dine in Oakley, California. The receptionist at our hotel suggested Buon Appetito. Another person standing near the desk, remarked, “I hear it’s a good place. They have white table clothes.” Seemed good to us. We all have traveled extensively in Italy and know good Italian cuisine when we taste it.

Well yes, the tables at Buon Appetito do come with white table clothes but that’s not why I am writing this.

The food was terrific. Excellent Italian cuisine. We had a wide range of dishes including the antipasto, caesar salads, lentil soup, raviolis, fish, and desserts. All were terrific. Good wine list as well. I want to include here a shout out to our server Stacey for her friendly and efficient service.

Try it. You’ll like it.

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The entrance door was a little hard to find as there is parking on nearly all sides of the building, most of the doors are locked and the front foyer was intimidating at first since it so dark. But once inside, the tables are set nicely & service was great; we had bread and ice waters immediately & didn’t even have to ask for them.
I love the crayons and paper table covers to draw on while you wait. It’s a comfort touch that makes dining at a nice restaurant more fun. Decent wine selection (Albeit very expensive by the glass) and nice bar. The menus are very descriptive which is helpful in choosing your meal.
The bathrooms were very clean, too, which is a huge plus!
When it came to the entree though, this is not a place I would choose to dine at again.
Authentic Italian meals but the most bland tasting pasta and sauces I’ve ever had. I wasn’t too crazy about their house-made Caesar, either. It tasted like honey mustard more than anything.
The starter bread, broccoli and grilled chicken were the only things I could actually stomach.
Just not my style of pasta.
Maybe I’ll have to try a sandwich if I ever do make it back.

Excellent dinner and waitress. The drink was amazing and the polenta was delicious. I would definitely go again. We were both very happy.

My husband and I love this place but lately we've been frequenting this place less often. Our last visit the food was not seasoned well and a real disappointment. I want to give them a stupendous review. We love the atmosphere and our special waitress...
