Omar's Chicken & Waffles

I'm that person that reads reviews before trying a restaurant, so I know what to expect or in this case not set my expectations too high. My boyfriend wanted to take me here after he tried it with one of his friends and liked it, so I was like okay why not! When we came in it wasn't busy at all, only a couple more customers dining in. We walked in and were quickly greeted and seated. We both ordered the chicken tenders and waffle plate, I forgot the name of it. Food came within 10minutes or so. The waffle was soft and fluffy but not the fluffy that fills you up too fast. Chicken tenders were well seasoned but kind of dry, still good though. Gnats did interfere with our meal as mentioned in a couple other reviews but it didn't bug me too much. Overall I liked this place.. didn't love it but didn't dislike it????????‍♀️

Outstanding food. The chicken is the best in the city. The only knock is the service is a little slow (good but slow) . The the servers are very nice! The atmosphere is nice. It has a great diner feel.

Really looking forward to trying this place. I originally submitted this business thru Google once I found out they were coming. Food was excellent and fresh and all of our dishes were really good. Only reason why I did not give a 5 is that table was dirty and sticky and the floor was also very sticky under our table.l. The wait time was around 30 minutes as well but they redeemed themselves with their food. We will come back again.

The restaurant has been open for about a month so everything looks new & modern...it was not crowded around 11:30am on Sunday with ample seating...the menu is a good variety for the restaurant (pics attached) it took approximately 10 minutes to order once seated and the food was served in about another 10 minutes. The food was hot and fresh when served...We had the Belgian waffles, they also had regular...good seasoning and crunch to the chicken...the steak tips were well done but not tough...the server was attentive and the Manager walked through the restaurant to greet and check on the patrons...the Men’s restroom was clean and the trash receptacle was close to the door so I was able to open the door with a paper towel and discard it on my way out of the restroom...you pay your ticket upfront as you are leaving and another young lady (assuming part of management) asked how were things and any feedback would be greatly appreciated...overall great experience, just wondering how would things flow on a busy day.
