Sonney's BBQ Shack Bar & Grill

Sonney’s BBQ is a good choice for BBQ in South Lake Tahoe with a variety of different options to choose from. The menu has something for everyone. The brisket and baby back ribs were very good and would recommend people try.

Coming from Texas, my standards for BBQ are very high and this place comes relatively close to the quality.

I really wanted to try BBQ in the Lake Tahoe area because I am used to excellent BBQ from Texas. There are a lot of options on the menu. I wish I had had more time to try a variety of the foods offered. Sonny's food was wonderfully tasty. The brisket melted in my mouth. But best of all was the wait staff. I have forgotten her name, but her husband is the chef. Her pleasant, happy attitude enhanced my experience. I can tell they are proud of this restaurant and that they enjoy their jobs. We sat outside on the patio and had a beautiful day and sky above us. Definitely make this a place to stop. You will be thanking all of us for recommending it.

This place does not mess around with their BBQ. Big open outdoor area to sit and eat as well.

Lot's of delicious food and beers. The chicken, brisket and ribs were super dank.

They have a little sports bar area with a pool table and tons of TVs to catch any games that might be on too.

Holy wow! Can I just start of by saying, I am not a huge bbq person. I mean, I like it but it’s not my go-to meal. My husband was craving it and heard good things from the locals, we just moved here and decided to check it out. Fried Mac and Cheese Balls... I’m L-I-V-I-N-G for them! Pulled pork sandwich, bring your appetite because Sonny’s don’t play. My first visit I had the BLT, I know it’s basic but this was no basic sandy. My husband and I loved it so much, we came back the following week and indulged. Super fun and friendly staff, cool atmosphere, dogs are welcomed on the patio. Winning! Thanks for the amazing experience guys!!

Saw this place advertised before Avengers Endgame on our honeymoon and couldn’t wait to go. Food was out of this world: we had brisket and baby back ribs (recommended)..... the best BBQ we’ve had!! Also had a local beer that was awesome. See pictures of our meals. You will not go home hungry... so we took desert with us (Key Lime Pie).... that was soooooo good.
