The Burger Joint

I had a “build your own” burger(habanero cheese, Jalapeños peppers, onions and pickles), loaded cheese fries and for desert the special Orange creamsicle shake. My boys had different burgers too. All were cooked just right, juicy and tasty. The beef is advertised as grass fed. My son had the corn dog and mentioned it was tasty too. The only point to be slightly negative are the exhaust over the grill was not expelling the smoke from the grill fast enough. The restaurant smelled too strongly of cooked burgers, so did my clothes when I got home. I admit that for three people and $100, it was a tad expensive for burgers.

This was a great place to stop and get a high quality burger, usually has fast service and good service but since the pandemic it seems to have gone down hill, took close to an hour for 2 burgers when the place was almost empty. One was overcooked, cold, and lacking in mushrooms compared to previous visits, the other was ok but didn't have much sauce. Sweet potato fries were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. But overall recent visits haven't been great.

One of the best outdoor eating locations in Arcata. That's not to say they don't have wonderful indoor dining as well they have high ceilings and really good ventilation. Definitely during the pandemic this is an amazing place to eat and feel very comfortable. The burgers are amazing whether you pick chicken veggie or beef. Definitely try their fries and they have an amazing selection of beers, ciders and wine. Head out to the back area and play some cornhole and sit under one of many pergolas. Excellent spot.
