Last Kind Words Saloon & Steakhouse

Look, yes, prices are expensive. But give me a break about complaints. We are out in the middle of nowhere and in the middle of the highest inflation in 40 years. I have traveled to other remote national park lodges over the years, and there is always limited eating choices. I am not there for the culinary moments, but visit for the natural beauty of the park and the adventure. As long as there is edible food then just go with it.
I was had some amazing chili at Yellowstone, it was the only food available at the end of the day when they were closing, and it was very satisfying.

At the saloon, I had the prime rib with asparagus and baked potato. It was delicious.
My dining partner enjoyed the wings.

Go get you your exercise during the day and work up an appetite. And enjoy the food adventure of a national park.

What can I say, they’ve really upped their game. The $44 Prime Rib was actually very, very good! Along with a large baked potato and three really tasty asparagus spears, this meal was top notch!

One would never expect to find a Saloon and a Steakhouse in the middle of a desert like Death Valley. However, this Last Kind Words Saloon and Steakhouse is so amazing that I would recommend those who have never been to Death Valley to visit this place for dinner only. This Saloon reminds you of the best old-style Saloons of the Old West where you would enjoy a refreshing ale by the original mahogany bar while listening to music, having good quality steaks in a surprisingly elegant setting.
