I am from Salt Lake City and organized a 40 person family gathering from all over the USA and Local. Contacted the Gold Hibachi by phone two weeks early and reserved the tables. Verified the reservation in person a day before. We arrived and everything was ready, 4 tables of 10, and we had a fantastic gathering. The food and service was exceptional for a buffet. There were 10 kids/teens at one table and they totally enjoyed themselves. I paid the bill and was extremely happy with the quality of service and food, staff. I would highly recommend the Gold Hibachi to anyone wanting to host a gathering.
I like this buffet. It has variety of foods but don't expect too much from them. The staff are nice and quick services. Lot of parking spaces, so not so worry. Try the lotus with black mushroom, French fried is very good and bun bao is full you up quick. They also have ice cream and soft ice cream. The soft yogurt is very icy and pastries are not so good. Fresh fruits are constantly swap out new tray. That's mean people like a lot. Weekend is cost more but they have more seafood such as oysters.
I like to eat a lot but even for someone with an appetite like mine, it's too much food. Yes, I know that's how buffet's work and it's our responsibility to set limits. Nevertheless, the food is tasty. I mostly enjoy the simple things they offer. Salad, soup, rice. I prefer going at lunch, less people, typically.
So the rating is going to be mostly on the selection and variety of food in which they definitely had. Was it spectacular? Not really. But I'd say the food I had was pretty decent and like I said a pretty good variety. The place itself could be better well kept. Our specific waiter was actually nice, he didn't speak too much but he wasn't rude like how the other waitresses and waiters seemed. It was a little difficult to find the opening to turn into the parking lot. I think the easiest way to find it is to go on by the hotel that's next to it.
Loved ít. Service people here don't smile but it's because they work hard. I like the cold red scallops the most. Desserts are decent with Thrifty Ice Cream. Most dishes are good. Sushi is great. They have a Mongolian grill that I didn't try because I was busy trying out other dishes. I will come back here. Next time I will try coming in at 3pm on weekdays to see what another reviewer said was true. Price for lunch on weekdays was 11.99. including taxes and tip it becomes $15.
