Guijie Malatang Hot Pot 簋街麻辣烫

Wow, such a great place! The broth was super flavorful and the pricing is outstanding! For those who need help, roll up and grab one of the clear bowls and tongs. Using those, look at all the items available in the freezers and pick/choose the ones you want and place them in your bowl. Once complete, go up to the counter and they will weigh your food. Make sure to tell them which soup base to cook your food in. Once you finish paying, they will give you a number. From here you can go to the sauce station and make your sauce and sit down. Shortly, your food will come out.

The only difficulty we had is that no one spoke English here. Hopefully someone in your party understands Mandarin, but the restaurant is pretty straight forward.

I had Malatang in Korea because it was popular at the time. I missed it when coming back to the states, so glad they have one in a similar style here.

It’s about ~$13 a pound with whatever you fill the bowl with. You can choose what ingredients you like. The produce is fresh enough and the meat is fresh.

Had the traditional hot and spicy. It’s not spicy in the capsaicin sense, but it had a lot of spices.

Definitely will come back.

The golden broth, made with pumpkin and bone broth, was delicious! It's a mild-medium spicy with a strong peppery taste. The broth is not oily, not too salty, just overall very balanced. When we got there around 11:30am, the rice wasn't ready yet, so I got noodles instead. It would've been so delicious with rice too. The guy at the register, maybe the owner, was friendly and witty. I would definitely come back again!

Vegetables and Tofu are my favorites. And the soup is not that spicy which is perfect!

I love this place! The hot pot soup are very tasty. All the vegetable and meat are pretty fresh and clean. Price is good too, only $9.99/pound right now (grand opening promotion for a month)!
