I got it to go. OMG, the pork chop was fat and they fed you with big chunk of rice for $12.50. I can make two with bigger pork chop for $12.50. First time and last. I had to have crackers after I finished this lunch box. I am an Asian girl under 117 lbs.

Monja Taiker bring nice blend of Taiwan local street food and drinks to a quiet section of Arcadia. Our visit was on a Friday lunch, the tables quickly filled up. Patrons were not noisy which made a very enjoyable atmosphere.

Monja Taiker is a Taiwanese Comfort Food restaurant (Huntington and 1st Ave) Combos here are pretty good value, we ordered Monja Red Grain Pork Rice and Popcorn Chicken with rice and choice of a green or black tea.
Monja Red Grain Pork basically Char Siu (BBQ pork) with crispy edges /fried.

This is simple comfort food, comes with stewed/steamed cabbage, pickled radish and minced pork with sticky rice.

    - Fast service
    - Composable Paper Plate (if you want to take home leftover, they provide plastic lid)
    - Plastic Cup for drink

    Update:
Taiwanese Sausage just “OK”… La Sinbala still the best.

Newly opened in Arcadia, Monjataike's recent arrival has sparked excitement among food enthusiasts eager to experience authentic Taiwanese flavors. Stepping into the restaurant on a busy Saturday night, the lively atmosphere and packed tables set the stage for an evening of culinary delight. Engaging with the owner, we discovered the meaning behind the restaurant's name, reflecting Taipei's indigenous food scene and the vibrant Taike culture of Taiwan, adding depth to our dining experience.

The star of the show, Monjataike's red grain pork, delivered a symphony of flavors with its crispy exterior and tender meat, reminiscent of Cantonese char siu. While the minced pork rice fell short of expectations as I preferred the traditional lurou rice made of pork belly, the owner's hospitality extended to allowing us to sample items from the lunch set menu during dinner, including the highly recommended beef noodle set. Despite minor hiccups, the cozy bistro atmosphere and commitment to authenticity made for an unforgettable dining experience.

As we bid farewell to Monjataike, we couldn't help but appreciate its contribution to the local dining scene. While the use of disposable bowls for hot noodles was a small detractor, the restaurant's dedication to providing a taste of Taiwan in Arcadia shines through in every flavorful dish. With its warm hospitality and tantalizing flavors, Monjataike promises to be a go-to destination for Taiwanese cuisine enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable dining experience.
