Came here to celebrate my birthday, get one free basic menu for your birthday if you have their membership. We chose silver wagyu set. Never go wrong with sukiyaki broth. Service and atmosphere were great and Wagyu beef was delicious!
High-end hot pot place. The quality of the beef is great.
The service is awesome.
For the first time here, I picked the silver set ($55) with house and sukiyaki broth. The seafood combo will be limited for this set, but it's huge; it comes with fish fillet, abalone, tiger shrimp, scallops, and crab leg. For me, I took out the crab leg, so they gave me more abalone instead.
You should have a membership, which is $28 for the annual fee; you will have basic Wagyu set for free on your birthday (this set is $45) and $7 discount every time.
Overall, I am satisfied with the meal even though it's kind of expensive lol
It’s expensive. But it’s worth it! Just do it. Spend the money, enjoy the food, eat well.
This place gets busy and packed! So definitely do a reservation or call ahead or whatever they offer. Or just be prepared to wait. We had a birthday with a group so we got a more private room towards the back. The meats are great quality. The seafood is a great spread. The veggies are terrific. The sauce options and sides are fantastic. Literally enjoyed everything they had to offer! Would 100% go back.
Service - absolutely amazing. Everyone is so nice. So attentive. Quick and very responsive.
Parking - free open parking lot. It does get busy in this plaza so it can fill up. We ended up parking behind the restaurant for convenience.
This is the Cerritos outlet of the Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House. It is AYCE fare with higher quality ingredients and available wagyu selection. Meat quality here is very good and their vegetables and seafood sets are also nicely done. Depending on the price level you pick you will get some A5 Wagyu for the middle tier and more A5 Wagyu for the top tier. There is a 90 minute time limit and very little pressure to leave the table. Also wait staff keep asking if we wanted more meat. I did not see drop in meat quality as we kept ordering as we see in some AYCE outlets. So I think the price tiers are very reasonable for the beef quality. One gap I would point out is that the soup bases are quite weak and lack enough flavor. However they have a nice choice in dipping sauces to add flavor to your bite. Parking at this strip mall is a bit tight because there are so many popular restaurants located here.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE: AMAZING!!! Quality of meat was great and service was phenomenal!
AMBIANCE: Casual. Noise level is average.
DRESS CODE: Casual
ORDERED: Silver Wagyu Set. We selected the house broth and sukiyaki broth. For the Special Dishes, we ordered Wagyu Bone Marrow and Wagyu Nigiri (both were great!). The quality of meat was delicious and the veggies were all fresh! I loved the tofu pocket! It was filled with masago, shrimp, and water chestnut. Highly recommend the spicy clams and the takowasa (octopus with fresh wasabi)! They have a small bar, where you can get your sauces, egg, white rice, minced wagyu, and ice cream! The minced wagyu was a bit salty for me. The Silver Wagyu Set comes with the Seafood Platter, but we didn't ask for it.
- the only suggestion is to have sesame oil, as this wasn't an option for the sauces. I usually like ponzu sauce, but for some reason the one here was too sweet for me.
SERVICE: Service was phenomenal! All the servers were friendly and attentive. It was our first time there and our server was patient in explaining the menu. The food was brought out quickly!
