small spot for a quick bite, lunch specials are generally decent and inexpensive (comes w/ a free drink), specials change every month or so, dine-in customers can get free dish refills for the lunch combos
guaranteed spot if you call in to order ahead of time (mandarin preferred), gets packed during lunch, can get stuffy during the summer (little/no AC?)
4.5 Star. Overall. Non-addicting, comfortable, authentic, genuine Taiwanese food that does not have an over-the-top sickening feel like most restaurants (if you dine out too frequently). No added MSG. A “homely” feel, good enough to stop by any day. Love the rotating lunch special menu. Would definitely add this to my “OK for regular visits” list or a convenient take-out place.
4.5 Star. Food. Daily lunch special combo offer that comes with a large green or black tea drink (add $1 to upgrade to other drinks on the menu, or add $0.50 for boba (5 star boba!)), a few small refillable side dishes (3 Star taste), and good portion for a good price. $7.95 Popcorn chicken combo, $9.95 combo of Dan Dan Mien (mildly spicy and flavorful) + meat and fish ball soup (bland and unsalted to balance out the strong flavored noodle), and the $4.95 boiled vegetables were all satisfying. Green tea is made just right with +$0.50 super chewy and soft boba. A complimentary tiny scoop of green tea ice cream with tiny spoon is served along with the bill in a small sauce container (how cute). Flavorful few small bites. I like.
3 Star. Service. Very typical Taiwanese matter-of-fact type. Don’t come in with a different set of expectation and you’ll fit right in.
Other. Unattractive exterior in an unattractive plaza. Just a small, unnoticeable restaurant, but evidently a known place to many locals. Surprise to find most tables filled with lots of Taiwanese patrons on a weekday noon. Would return.
We have been going to this place for years. The food is great and my son really likes their food
Come here for lunch often, offers different specials everyday to keep things interesting. Try the chicken leg, I love how they debone the leg for easy eating. ????. They do have several items available for dinner only, haven't had a chance to try it yet.
As a regular guest for this restaurant I highly recommend this place. Everything taste good, don't judge by it's size. Lunch a little busy, dinner is very cozy.
