Happy Together offers Cantonese seafood, dim sum and other dishes on the ground floor of the Holiday Inn. It is a well known secret of both guests and locals who wait up to an hour for a seat. All the dim sum is made in-house and is fresh, with quality ingredients. The menu itself isn't particularly large, but of the dozen dishes we ordered, everything was excellent. There is a separate menu for Cantonese dishes, including seafood available. The BBQ here is top quality...their BBQ duck is delicious, with almost no oil and no salt. Vegetarians will be happy here as well, as the menu has a good selection of items. Service from the staff is friendly and prices are fair, though slightly higher compared to their competition.
The food is above average and the price is reasonable. We were there on a weekday and we were seated right away. Ample parking during the weekdays.
Came here when it just opened and wasn't busy yet. They also had the buy 1/2 get 1/2 chicken free deal. The most important aspect, flavor and taste, are right on! Service was also very good. I've been there twice so far, servers were very friendly both times. But I saw some unhappy people when I was leaving because they don't manage their reservation systems well. Unlike other restaurants, when you reserve a table via Yelp, it's more like they put you on the wait list, you're still gonna wait when you get there, don't expect to be seated on time. The ambiance is also above average because it's inside the Holiday Inn hotel. But because it's a small restaurant, it gets busy quick and you loose the small and cozy feel.
Happy Together Dim Sum in El Monte is a refreshing addition to the culinary scene, recently making its mark in the area. Initially drawn in by the glowing reviews on Yelp, the newly revamped Chinese restaurant exudes a chic and contemporary ambiance, setting a modern tone for the dining experience.
Conveniently nestled within the Holiday Inn premises, ample parking elevates the ease of visiting this spot. The upscale presentation with tablecloths on every table adds a touch of sophistication to the dining atmosphere, making it an inviting space for a delightful meal.
While the service might still be finding its rhythm due to its recent opening, the dim sum here is a testament to the kitchen's commitment to freshness. Each dim sum dish is meticulously cooked to order, arriving at the table piping hot and steamingly fresh, ensuring a delightful taste experience.
The menu boasts an array of enticing dishes, but the roasted duck and coconut chicken soup particularly stand out for their impeccable flavors. The savory delight of the roasted duck and the comforting warmth of the coconut chicken soup make them must-tries for any visitor.
Be mindful, though, as this place tends to fill up rapidly. For larger groups or parties, securing a table in advance through reservations is highly recommended to avoid any disappointment.
In essence, Happy Together Dim Sum presents itself as a promising spot for dim sum enthusiasts, offering a blend of contemporary vibes, fresh and delicious dishes, albeit with a new establishment's slight teething issues that are likely to smooth out over time.
Food was great and service was excellent! My family is picky and they like this place with 2 thumbs up!
They have a small banquet area that can host a 10-20 tables party as well. It's right at the west wing of Holiday Inn. It's their Grand Opening, Everything is brand new, clean, and spacious.
Family owned and the chef worked in a 5 star hotel before. My favorite dishes are the sweet and sour pork, the sliced Peking duck, and their home made dum sum, e.g. Sui Mai, sesame balls, and shrimp dumpling! 😋 No msg available upon request on the ready to make dishes.
Will definitely go back again to try other dishes they have.
