Great tonkatsu. I recommend the filet katsu set. The pork tenderloin on a bed of cabbage with pickles and mustard served with rice and wakame onion miso soup. Call ahead for evem faster pickup.
This is the express version of [what I know as] the original Kagura location in Old Torrance. The menu is limited to just katsu (pork, chicken, and curry options) compared to the restaurant but it's what I prefer, TBH. I usually get the loin katsu (more tender and fatty) while my husband prefers the fillet katsu (leaner cut).
Expect long lines during peak lunch hours, especially during the weekend. There are usually plenty of tables in the food hall; indoor seating is limited but there is lots of space in the enclosed patio. You can also peruse the market or pick up some AMAZING pastries at the adjacent food stall (Croissants du Tokyo) while you wait to enjoy the best katsu in the South Bay.
Nice place for tonkatsu, really good. That's all they make.
It is best tonkatsu restaurant in LA. It is totally different food quality conpare with other serving tonkatsu restaurant.
You have to try the Katsu Don Set it's delicious.
