Rubio's Coastal Grill

We got the California burrito and thought it was pretty yummy. Most things are awesome here, but I didn't love the sauce that came with the CA burrito. I recommend ordering without the sauce. Hard to order something bad from Rubios.

I've been going to this Rubios for the past 6 years and have noticed this place (the food, staff and service) depends on who the manager is. They had this manager named Carlos and in my opinion, Rubios was the best under his management. Since he left, I've noticed the quality of my experience has gone down somewhat. Nevertheless, I believe it remains one of the better Rubios locations in the Los Angeles area.

I would say you can't go wrong with the fish here, nor the chicken. The beef in comparison leaves something to be desired, but isn't bad. The portions is usually appropriate but at times can be somewhat lacking; noticeably in the guacamole department. Since Carlos left, the amount of guacamole you get from them is comparable to their salsa cups. Speaking of which, their salsa bar is nice, with a good variety of salsa choices, limes, pickled pepper, etc.

Overall, I recommend this location over the ones is Pasadena, or nearby.

I was born and raised in San Diego (where Rubio’s got its start) so usually going to one is like a little taste of home, but today that was not the case. I got the classic fish taco plate and was disappointed by watery beans and stale chips. Better luck next time I guess :(

Came there for the first time about a month ago, intending to go to Vietnam, but soon discovered it is now Rubio's Coastal Grill. What a great discovery... Ordered three Rubio's Coastal Grill: Al Pastor, Carne Asada and Chili Verde; all were amazing. Just the right amount of moisture and Avocado. I highly recommend.
