Sushi Nakata Express

A small sushi place located in La Canada. There are a few tables inside for eating, but seems more like a take out place. Also saw Japanese bagged snacks and drinks for purchase.

The menu is mostly sushi, however there are a few bento options. The daily special menu inside also provided a few more non-sushi options. We ordered an assortment of sushi items and a karaage bento. For the price, I felt the amount and quality was decent. Nothing fancy, however fish was fresh and satisfying.

Food can take time to prepare so might be best to call ahead to pick up if opting the takeout route. The hand roll menu was interesting and may try this out next time I'm in the area for a quick sushi fix.

We had the sushi set, the fish was fresh and properly cut, the flavor is rightful. Only improvement, in my humble opinion, is the rice. It should be more vinegar and a bit more sticky but still remain as “a whole grain”. That’s the tough art in Japanese food.

Sushi Nakata Express was very delicious. They are using high quality fish. All the sashimi melted in my mouth. Also authentic Japanese small dishes were great! They have indoor seating so you can eat in or take out. We will definitely go back!

i got the 3 hand roll set. it's pretty good, but kind of small. i think the chef is Japanese, his sushi rice is good. i think i am gonna try different offerings later.

This is by far the best sushi you can get in the area. It is next to impossible to find a legit sushi place that isn't super Americanified here so I hope this place does well. Staff was friendly and parking is easy.
