You have to be prepared for the wait if you come on a weekend let me begin there. But the wait is well worth it because the food is simply fantastic. I got a cheese enchilada and taco hard shell shredded chicken taco and I asked for onions in my enchiladas it was really one of the best Mexican food meals I've ever eaten. My friend was leery of tasting the chicken mole so she ordered the mole a sauce first and tasted it and they brought it to her and she said it was delicious so she ordered the chicken mole...And... it came with homemade corn tortillas and she said just it was awesome. Last person ordered street tacos all three of them were beef with rice and beans and she said they were some of the best street tacos she's ever eaten. We ordered for the appetizer guacamole and some restaurants say that they have guacamole this place has real guacamole and it was great and the chips were fresh and avocados were fresh so I really suggest you get the guacamole as an appetizer. To recap this restaurant is worth the wait the pricing is great and for those of you who want to have a bar they do have one although we did not go in that part of the restaurant.
Pretty foolproof choice for upscale Mexican. Upscale is nothing under $10 unless it's a side of... Butter, milk, lard, fish heads. But upscale means that there was definitely some talent and real love of the "ART" of cooking going on in the kitchen. A kitchen where that little special something is in every dish served. If you know Lola's on 4th, you know exactly what I'm talkin bout. Cut one star because our server was not quite fluent. I don't mind that. But don't keep nodding your head like you understand my every word, when at best you've narrowed it down 3 or 4 words that you understand and fake the rest. We had to decline two plates of food cause we just finished ordering seconds ago.
All in all, a decent meal with hints of what the Chef's are capable of. I wish they had a little more freedom to let their creativity soar.
I'll be back. For sure. The chicken Mole was so perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. Best Mole I've had in a restaurant.
Always great. Service and food. Wish they could do something about the crowd without losing the aumbiance and authenticity. It's worth the wait though.
Great food and wonderful wait staff! Reasonable prices and easy parking. Limited gluten free options, but the shrimp salad worked out, after all.
The food and experience were outstanding! I'm a novice to Mexican food and the waiter was amazing! He suggested things for me to try and gave samples of various things and the overall taste of the food was delicious. I had shrimp with garlic and beans and rice. This was a great experience and one I'd repeat and recommend.
