Roxanne's

Very friendly neighborhood bar. Been there a while; Moses and Joshua used to yuck it up here. It's the sort of place where strangers will sit down on the barstool beside you and introduce themselves. Pretty cool. Full bar includes exotic choices and the occasional truly inspired cocktail. The food is bar food with a south of wall flare so just get over yourself. The empanadas are good fillers if you're inclined to drink too much too fast.
Ask about the speakeasy. That's pretty fun. Go get naughty.

Great drinks and bartenders! Fun on Friday and Saturday nights. DJs get the dance floor jumping. They're special events are engaging. Bar food is delicious. I recommend the Pastrami quesadilla and wings. They have a speak easy in the back for special events. You should sign up for their mailing list. Mondays they have a musician jam session that's always good. Gotta check this place out if you're in Long Beach.

Lively bar where you can still have a conversation with more than the two people seated beside you. The happy hour food can be a little under cooked (Beef Sliders) or singed (Pastrami Quesadillas), but is quite tasty. There's a hidden speakeasy, but it's not too difficult to get the password and the cocktails are inventive.

Pretty neat and cool place. The place seems to be clean from everywhere I went to. We came here for a Whiskey Tasting event and they had the outside all fenced off. Inside the bathrooms are small, but everything was cool. The main bar area has 2 large tv's to watch sport events or anything really and they also had live music. They also have a "speakeasy" inside once you get the password of the day after you set a reservation. It is pretty dark inside, but cool. There is a phone booth you enter from next to the pool table and it is the main door which is cool.

I went to Roxanne's for the speak easy. You go past the bar and pool table, enter a phone booth, give the secret word (which you get upon making a reservation) and enter a darkish room. It's a prohibition era Speak Easy! Beautiful bar and ceiling that are original. There was a band called, High Tide, playing, very, very, good. Fun, different kind of experience because a lot of the people get dressed up, made it nice.
