I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Café 1909 on our interview date.
Hidden in the nooks and crannies of Long Beach lies Cafe 1909, a place that you’ve probably passed by and said to yourself, “Oh, I should check that place out.” From the outside, you would think this is a tiny little place that has only three places to sit. However, you would be pleasantly surprised that not only is there multiple tables and couches scattered along its open floorplan, but there is also a conference room perfect for study sessions or business meetings.
Cafe 1909 successfully turned a space that could have easily have been a small commercial office into a place where Long Beach residents (and visitors like myself) are able to relax or work in a relatively peaceful setting. So what are you waiting for? Head over there already!
Coffee: Tasty! Always served at the right temperature with lots of options available. Their drink menu has a good balance, catering to both coffee purist and those who want dessert (sweets in their coffee).Food: Excellent! A variety of options with breakfast and lunch items including speciality Hot Dogs, and Street Tacos (Street Tacos available only Friday and Saturday). But if you need a quick go to, you'll never go wrong with the "Me So Hungry" sandwich.
A nice place for morning coffee
Food tastes great. Love their hot teas too (pumpkin chai is really good).
The new chef is expanding their menu to include breakfast and vegetarian options.
Also!! Study rooms are available to book/ have plenty of outlets in the main hall.
Good Coffe and the prices just right
