The place is located in the arts district of DTLA. The town is renovating and you can see neighboring buildings being renovated as we entered the restaurant. It's fairly large inside with a whole bar hidden in the back. I enjoyed the modern industrial vibes of the interior. They also had a small shop in the front full of books, candles, candy, and other goodies.
We were seated next to the bar in the back. On Mondays, they only served brunch during prime lunch hour. So I went ahead and ordered the Belgian waffle. The syrup was good with a rich taste. The waffles were thick and soft with a crispy exterior for that solid first crunch. I thought it was good.
My friend and I didn't realize this was a vegetarian restaurant when we first walked in. They don't have any meat options, but they do have eggs.
Love this place! Zinc Cafe & Market and Bar Mateo is amazing! Finally went to a restaurant that supports people with disability. The moment you walk in you feel the good vibes not only from the food but the hearts of everyone there. The environment of the place is so cute and modern! Love it!
Big fan of their brunch! I've been on multiple occasions with a group of between 10 and 15 people and had a great time. Great atmosphere, easy to make reservations, delicious food. The only drawback is the availability of parking, but there is a parking lot around the corner that typically has a spots available.
I love Zinc Cafe! The vibe is chic and laid back. The buffet always has an excellent selection of dishes and of course those amazing Garlic Knots! I had hot chocolate made with almond milk and it was rich and delicious! Seating is plentiful indoor and out with a lovely patio. The staff is always nice.
Nice vegetarian spot serving up simple and well made dishes in a nice space, with indoor and outdoor seating. We came here for brunch and had the vegetable plate, zinc salad and guacamole and chips. Everything was tasty, though the green beans with hazelnuts from the veggie plate was my favorite. The service was friendly but a bit slow. Definitely a goo option for a bite in the Arts District.
