    Umeda has a unique miso taste. From the miso eggplant to the miso soup to the sea bass never have I experienced such taste. The portions are smaller than your usual restaurant but that's what makes it a dining experience. Will return to try the chefs special and wagyu plates. Thank you Umeda for making my birthday dinner a wonderful experience.

    I almost don't want to give the glowing review I'm about to, because I want it to stay a hidden gem, but I also want Umeda San to make lots of money so here it goes. Best Japanese food in Hollywood by far. Get the tasting menu. Perfect progression. Truly a great experience. The craft here is second to none and really only rivaled by Naka. Stop reading and just go! Highlights include hamachi, uni, and the lobster, but everything is the highest quality. You can't go wrong.

    Wonderful staff, inspired dishes, and a non rushed atmosphere. Great for a date or simply if you want a memorable experience with your party.
