In search of a fun casual place to celebrate a birthday, we decided on A-Frame. It's definitely a cool spot with indoor and outdoor seating, great music, and awesome service. However, the food left much to be desired. A few of us ordered the all you can eat chicken meal (boneless mochiko, cracklin beer can and Korean wings) served with salad, fries and corn on the cob, and another ordered the swordfish meal. The salad with mixed greens and the seasoned fries were quite tasty. The chicken (all three types) and the fish were bland and completely underwhelming. We were quite disappointed to say the least. The banana bread pudding was fantastic, likely our favorite part of the entire dinner!
Great for larger groups! I brought in 20 and they had room for us. The service was quick too.
Smallish menu but very tasty eats. Bustling but not frenzied. Not "sceney," but you may still see very recognizable faces dining in. Friendly service, casual atmosphere, basketball on the big screen TV behind the bar at one end of the dining room.
I met a friend here while in LA and thought the food was good. The atmosphere was kind of funky and I personally wasn't a fan of the communal seating.
The drinks seemed expensive (I think $15 for a cocktail) and the food was on the pricey side.
The music was way too loud, so it was difficult to have a conversation at a normal talking level.
