El Ataron: Tacos De Canasta

Located inside the Alameda Swap meet you'll find this small hole in the wall food stand. There's a kids menu featuring chicken nuggets with french fries, hot dog weiners with french fries and burgers and fries. They also have pupusas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas and sopes. Meat options include carne asada, pastor, cabeza, chorizo and pollo. They have a selection of sodas and aguas frescas including pineapple and agua de jamaica. Tostilocos and esquite are also available. I had a quesadilla de flor de calabaza which is served on a freshly made tortilla. I was expecting a thin Americanized quesadilla, bit what I got was a healthy portioned quesadilla filled accompanied with salsa, lettuce and sour cream. I also had two tacos of cabeza and two of pastor. They had plenty of onions and cilantro. One of the ladies even gave us a sample of mango and lemon ice cream. Both were good, but there was no more room for ice cream. This is definitely a no frills place, but the parking is free and the food is good.
