This is an Izakaya aka Japanese style drinking den. The concept’s focus is drinking that’s supported by food options designed to prolong drinking. That said they offer a variety of Japanese beer, sake and shochu to drink. The food menu is extensive and has something for everyone. The ambiance is retro and There’s always music playing. Later in the night there may even be a DJ. Reservations are recommended for parties larger that 4.
The food was good. The place is small and crowded. Seating was uncomfortable.
Food is 3*
Atmosphere 5*
Service 5*
Food is available until midnight! It's a decent budget range menu. Did not expect butter fish would be fried, but it was juicy and soft, however way too much salt. Too much salt in the truffle roll as well. Crab salad in our Rainbow Roll left me craving for more, it was addicting! Ikura eggs are huge and clear. Avocado roll was super fresh.
Atmosphere and service are a whole another story! If you need an instant mood elevator, come to this place! It is eclectic, with brick wall exposed, big and small posters all over, this restaurant is buzzing with chatter, crew shouts out greetings and good-byes. The place is electric with positive vibes. You can feel thethe des to make your experience great.
A great hole in the wall Japanese restaurant. I love the atmosphere plus the staff are so friendly. My only complaints are that some of the food could be better and the seating on the stools isn't that comfortable. The prices and atmosphere are the strengths of this place.
Thin sliced beef entree with rice is AMAZING. Highly recommended. Also, great beer specials. The spot is a small quaint location with a really good atmosphere with a TV in case the dodgers are playing. This will soon become my local Japanese spot.
