Ok this is my take. If you are looking for amazing sushi and only that then this is not the place to go. You will be disappointed at the cost and the quantity. The quality is there is you like fusion mix of sushi. Not your typical Japanese sashimi place. It is a pre fix and quite expensive and exclusive. The place only seats 8. It is $125 a person for the food alone. If you order drinks & a la carte after the presentation / show where you sample their offerings it will run you well over $300 a couple. Go easy on the drinks is a big hint! Enjoy the show & presentation and don't be tempted to eat after the $125 showing. If hungry the bar is right next door and much cheaper.
This is a interesting speakeasy theme place. The service is amazing although when we got there the doorbell didn't work so our group was waiting outside until she came out and got us? She didn't know it wasn't working either. Your kind of at a standstill until they come out.
But once inside the bar area is cute and they do give you a free drink. The walk to the sushi bar is kind of cool. You feel like Goodfellows and walking to an exclusive back entrance.
New to the area and try this sushi bar based on high google reviews. The high reviews are warranted. Very interesting specialty rolls and very good prices on the normal hand and cut rolls. Had the poke hand roll and the Warthog roll. Both were great. Nice ambience and very friendly and capable servers. This will certainly be my new go-to sushi bar in the Encino, CA.
This is special occasion sushi. The chefs were very entertaining delivering each course with a story or anecdote and explaining the ingredients and composition of each bite. The sushi was better than that served in many of LA's other notable sushi dens and the 8-person sushi bar was intimate and fun. It is a memorable experience for a special occasion dinner.
Pricey but delicious. Tasty sushi with a story. Went here to celebrate a special night, and it was truly memorable.
