Love this place! Took my girlfriend here and we had an amazing experience. The food was tasty (I ordered the pork), the service was quick (even though it was a packed house), and the drinks were fantastic! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!
Food is mediocre and neither inventive nor well executed. It's not a bad meal , it's just nothing special and portions are small. I recommend spending more and going to Rosaline instead, where the same chef actually put effort in the menu and execution. Maybe it's a better place for breakfast/lunch. Also FYI parking is terrible...
Rosaline became my favorite restaurant in the city when it opened, but it's a long haul from Venice, especially on the weekdays. I was thrilled to see chefs Ricardo and James head west for Pikoh, and I was even more excited to see them open an all-day cafe where I can just hang during the day with great food and drinks. I like the casual environment during the day, and then it becomes a romantic nighttime spot for dinner. The food is amazing! I did brunch and two dinners already, and I would 100% recommend trying the restaurant at different times to experience the full menu in all its depth.
Chef Zarate is famous for high-end Peruvian and Nikkei cuisine, so it's amazing to see him open Pikoh with a strong lean on farm-to-fork Californian cuisine with touches of Asian and Peruvian flavors on certain dishes (more so in the nighttime tapas) and with a lower price point than his other restaurants. The menu includes more accessible dishes like burgers and the best breakfast burrito in town, but gets more progressive at night with a lamb ragu pasta and pork tankatsu. (I've already visited for brunch, lunch and dinner -- loved them all.) The space is also airy, light and welcoming with great mixed drinks. It's fun to see a chef known for one cuisine mix it up with something different and pull it off brilliantly. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.
This is my new local spot. Awesome drinks and the menu options are always reinventing. The service is outstanding. Music is great and nice vibe.
