Loved my experience here at Mako. I wanted to make a sushi stop while I was in Little Tokyo and happened to pass this as I was heading to the Blue Whale (jazz venue) and decided to walk in. What a treat it was! The staff and customers were so happy and it felt very relaxing and altogether pleasant.

The sushi was pricey, but overall very good and high quality cuts made in front of you. The real winner was the tofu miso soup and sake they had. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a nice experience in a sushi spot.

    FANTASTICALLY UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I'm unsure of how anyone can have a bad experience here at Mako Sushi:

30 years of continuous, generous, and joyful service to a community of somewhat lackluster appreciation. If this sounds awfully depressing, it isn't. The delivery of honorable positivity is consumed best by those in need.

But, if you do find yourself in that situation, I think it has something to do with an extreme lack of patience that's developed and extends from the human condition of self-serving, or making of one's self more important.
Unfortunately, when this condition goes unnoticed, the end result is a perversion of perspective. This is felt as "everything happens TO you", whereas the desired state (we ALL want) is to see your part of the experience as something that "happens FOR you".

How an individual reacts in any situation is determined by this shift in perspective. Enjoyment or disapproval.

When entertaining a new or different experience, the joy is found when your senses are allowed to be free from the conditioning. Taste, sight, smell, (and more) can fully participate WITH us to enhance any experience, but can also deprive us of joy if our attention to desires becomes only about what is received instead of what is given. If nothing (good) is given, then nothing (good) can truly be received.

So, please enter THIS experience, where food and drink and service is given, with the same attention to your intentions of self-service to realize your actions reflect your level of satisfaction.

To sum it up: you can only receive that which you desire when you become the example for others to follow. Give first of your joy, then allow the reflection to be that which you give. You must give (appreciation) to receive.

A huge Thank You to Mako and his family for all of the wonderful experiences and moments we've shared over such a long period of time. 'Truly grateful' defines our experiences with you on our journey in this life.

(and to you for reading all that)

Nice clean facilities, staff are curteous and make sure you are happy and comfortable. They take time to explain anything off the menu. They help make recommendations as well. Ample parking which was free, that is always a bonus.
