Food is good very fresh and the way they styled the restaurant is cool and they sell beer!
I love this place! Nice fresh ambience! Nick gave me the opportunity to try a new dish, the grilled shrimp salad. It was absolutely delicious!! Definitely worth a visit!
I consider myself a bit of a foodie and have been fortunate to travel a bit around this big marble and I can say that the San Pedro Fish Market and their "grille" locations have some very tasty dishes to offer that I have not seen or tasted anywhere else. I started with their Ceviche (a fairly common seafood treat) It was delightful, and tasted as if the fish had been caught minutes prior. I was not far from correct. The fish is as local as it gets and after 60 years in the area, they likely dominate the seafood restaurants on absolutely the freshest seafood around. Next was the Captains Tray. Warning: bring friends this is a lot of food. Shrimp, Calamari, Red Snapper (seasonally) grilled to perfection as were the onions, red and green peppers and the right amount of seasoning. If I had the room a plethora of sides were offered as well for a reasonable $ 3.50 each. With several locations in the south bay, none are too far away. If you happen to cook, head down to the Ports O' Call location which is called the San Pedro Fish market and pick out your diner and have them cook it or take it home. It is so fresh it still has a heartbeat. The market seats 3000-ish folks and on any nice day this place is packed. fun for the whole family and the views of the shipping channel are cool as well. I believe they are opening one in Long Beach in the spring or summer.
Had grilled yellowtail to go with brown rice & coleslaw. Sides were fine and seasoning on fish was okay. However maybe because pieces were small, the fish was overcooked & dry. But will continue try other fish next time.
Walked in not knowing what to expect and was so delighted to know that all the fish is fresh and filleted in-house. Aside from having great products, the staff was intuitive enough to explain menu mechanics and which cuts of fish were best suited for the various methods of cooking without being condescending or pushy when they sensed we were overwhelmed by the choices. This kind of care for customers is so rare nowadays, glad to see it’s alive and kicking. Would come back, and would recommend to seafood lovers. ????????????????
