We had an 85th birthday party/tea for our beloved aunt, and the celebration exceeded every hope and dream we had. The atmosphere is so lovely, beautiful and warm; the food was delicious, and the staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful experience and memory we will treasure for years to come.
Love this place! Delicious scones, a large variety of tea sandwiches and a ton of tea to choose from (they even let you smell the teas to help you choose!). The cottage itself is lovely and if you come with young tea party guests, they get to search the garden for the tea fairy :)
We had so much fun here! My mom is in a wheelchair and we had mostly vegetarians in our group but the staff were so kind and accommodating. Highly recommend for a birthday or special occasion meal.
I am really surprised by the number of bad experiences shared by some of the reviewers. We've been going to High Tea Cottage for years and never had a bad experience. Jenn has always been gracious, hospitable, and has gone out of her way to take care of us like royalty. I'm sad that others have not had this kind of experience. I believe it's the exception and not the norm what they've experienced.
$60 a head for a three course, small portion, meal that specializes in an ambience made to exploit British enthusiasts rather than tea drinkers. No substitutions, though they will accommodate dietary restrictions. The teas are mostly herbal, very sweet, and limited to a selection of twenty or so. All teas are brewed with the same temperature and thrown in a pot, so expect a tanen heavy experience that becomes more bitter as you drink. All in all this place is good for a special occasion after lunch for people who want to feel like sophisticated tea drinkers, but don't actually drink a lot of tea.
