    I first came to La Luz when I was in college. Thirty years later I got a job across the street and took up my love affair once again. They serve consistently wonderful Mexican food. Numero ocho is my number one choice, every time.

    We have been here several times over the year. Each of our visits have been separated several months but the food has always been consistently excellent. The tamales are especially good. We consider ourselves a bit of flan connoisseurs and La Luz Del Dia has the creamiest and most delicious flan ever. Sometimes flan just tastes like sweet eggs, this is a heavenly custard that needs to be tasted.

    The Service: CASH ONLY! You order the food and pick up the food at the counter. Sometimes the staff will help you to bring the food to your table. Only one staff is taking the order so the line gets longer during lunch time.

    Love their patio seating area.

    The Food: Super affordable! The food is authentic and handmade tortillas. You can see the action behind the counter. Love their combo choices. Very good deal.

    Definitely try their tamales~ all homemade.
