An outstanding meal! Albacore, cornbread, squash, oven baked oysters, trout and roasted pork chop..and the qual!. Every dish delivered to our table was exemplary. An international wine list that deserves recognition.
So good!
Yes another 5 star review for this place. The staff is amazing and the menu is soooo perfect. I ate so well ! The 11.00 butter is soooo worth it !!! I got the albacore so fresh and tasty the lamb was stewed just right. And the apps were tasty and not big at all. The main course was the ribeye for TWO. When it came out it had a marmaduke bone full of bone marrow. I have only ever had that in Mexico City. It was cooked to perfection .... the steak was medium RARE seriously it did not even salt so flavorful.... the peach pie huge and flaky and the crust was thick and baked also the home made whip cream ! Valet parking and I can not wait to come back
Please get the corn bread
From the folks who brought you Hatchet Hall (Culver City) comes Dunsmoor and you can expect the same quality of food and vibe.
Dunsmoor is all indoor seating, most will fit four people. Make reservations: I don't know if they take walk ins but don't risk it - they get real busy.
Food was delicious - served family style so we got to try a lot of plates. I highly recommend their coal roasted oysters, chopped duck liver and lamb sirloin.
Street parking only but should be plenty as it's in a dead neighborhood.
The food was decent. The succotash salad and trout were the highlights for us. I was expecting the cornbread to be amazing but it was just drenched in butter.
**Con**
One thing not mentioned by most reviews yet are the communal tables and the proximity to other parties. Having dined at restaurants with communal tables, Dunsmoor pushes it to the limit, cramming diners next to one another without much breathing room. Your glasses and dishes will be near your neighbors and your elbows will bump people to the your left and right. It’s part of the vibe so I can’t fault them but definitely worth knowing before you venture there.
Food, drinks, and service were fantastic. Please try the chicken liver, you won't regret it. Once you're done, drop back into the bar behind the restaurant.
