Fat Tuesday "A Taste Of New Orleans" Sherman Oaks

For the longest time, I've seen Fat Tuesday under construction on Ventura Blvd, but had no idea what kind of restaurant it was. I was able to visit this restaurant about a month after it opened, and it was an eye opener. Definitely exceeded my expectations. They are a New Orleans style restaurant specializing in Cajun creole cooking like that found in the south. Especially popular are their po'boy sandwiches.

This was the first time I've ever had a po 'boy, and it made a great first impression. The shrimp po ' boy was perfect in every way: they use bread shipped from New Orleans, it had a nice creamy remoulade sauce that had a nice tint of spiciness to it, the breading on the fried shrimp was phenomenal. Everything tasted fresh and combined so well to produce a magical taste. And it was HUGE! Big pro. I was also able to try their chargrilled oysters with butter sauce, which were also pretty amazing. To top it off, the beignets were fresh made. Hot, fluffy, with that nice powdered sugar in top. Can't get any better.

If you see Fat Tuesday or are anywhere near, you have to hit this place up. Great cajun creole food is hard to find in Los Angeles, and Sherman Oaks got it lucky with this one. It's definitely one of the best restaurants in the area. The service is also really good, as everyone is helpful and friendly. And the ambience is so cool. Very reminiscent of that Bourbon Street feel.

Was there on Memorial Day weekend. Food was GREAT. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I plan to recommend Fat Tuesday to all my friends. Can't wait until they can fully open.

Talk about a perfect shrimp Po’ boy! Great food and seems like they have an awesome atmosphere on the inside. After this lockdown I’ll be definitely dining in.

We ordered takeout food from Fat Tuesday to celebrate my virtual graduation from Tulane during quarantine. It was the perfect taste of New Orleans while I was missing the city. The service was incredible, Keith went above and beyond to make sure our order was perfect. He was so accommodating for dietary restrictions. We ordered nearly everything on the menu (jambalaya, dirty rice, mac n cheese, gumbo, po boys, red beans and rice, corn maque choux, and beignets) and everything was delicious! We highly recommend Fat Tuesday!
