My name is George Anton, I'm a stand-up comedian at the Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. and I loved to eat here with my friend the filmmaker Francis Megahy, he introduced this place to me.

Wonderful fried chicken sandwich.. perfectly toasted ciabatta roll, cabbage slaw, butter lettuce and crispy, juicy chicken. The pickles that come on the side are the perfect complement to the fatty mayo-ey sandwich. Also had a coconut macaron which was perfection.

I start each and every day with a cup of coffee, and found myself going to Joan's 3 days in a row (as I was visiting LA for 5 days) to grab their very tasty cappuccino ????
Fresh and interesting salads. I really liked the kale, the sprouts, the wheat and the fresh green beans salads.
The hash browns are delicious!!!
And one last recommendation - the tuna salad sandwich!!!
Not only that I'll come back again, but Joan's became my casual café in LA.
The 4 star rank is only because it's too pricey (ex.: small fresh juice bottle for 10$).

Great little deli cafe style breakfast and brunch place, with limited seating, which can fill out fast. I enjoy the wait in line to order and then find a seat cafes as it feels faster and less of a wait time. Server didn’t look that interested, but all the other staff were exceptional and super friendly. Not a big menu, the pancakes were fluffy and delicious, and the omelette was pretty good too. Street parking is available around the deli.
