Hidden gem in the hills of Hollywood. Inventive and modern Japanese food with a beautiful view of the city. The wine list is also quite impressive. Pretty much only valet parking available but it’s definitely worth the trip!
Location was great as it was in a tranquil neighbourhood in West Hollywood, we loved the views outside of the restaurant too.
We went there for lunch and opted for the set menu which was a traditional Japanese breakfast. It was nice and homey, but the price tag was quite unreasonable in my opinion... USD30 for a bowl of rice, miso soup, small piece of grilled salmon, and some pickles. I could do that at home by myself for much less.
The overall experience was good though as the environment was nice.
This is a brand new restaurant and already I can see it becoming a neighborhood favorite. The menu is simple but not basic. The venue is small but very open. The food is well done and not very expensive. They have an awesome Japanese breakfast course. There’s an open kitchen and the chefs are innovative and very friendly!
P.S. - They are not part of Yamashiro.
If you want to sit in a unique and beautiful spot sipping natural wines, this is the place to go. Want to empress out of town friends? The patio has a clear view of the Hollywood sign. The decor/design is done in a modern Japanese minimalist style that really suits the setting. The food is good... not cheap... but really tasty. A restful, quiet place just off of Hollywood Blvd.
Gorgeous location on the Yamashiro property. Small but well done. Only did the breakfast set but it was exquisite. Nice beer and wine list as well.
