This place is like going back to Japan. Everything was fresh and clean and just perfect. If you want to get some amazing sushi done right now, you should try it. I didn't even realize they had a Michelin star until afterward but I can see why they got it.
Morihiro is a spectacular culinary experience. Trying to describe it wouldn't did it justice. Just go, if you can get in.
This was... quite possibly the best Japanese meal I've had in this country.
The food was great, the service was great, even the plates were great..
I expected to leave a little hungry.. but the food kept coming. We were stuffed and happy by the end.
Go there for a special occasion, you'll be quite happy!
The chef is a perfectionist, I can tell. Everything that comes out is arranged perfectly. Everything is special, and I was surprised more than a few times by simple things tasting far better than I imagined they would.
Sorry for some of the pics.. the food looked so good I ate some of it before remembering to take a picture 😆
Morihiro is an incredible experience. From the moment when you walk in and are escorted to your table, to when your server holds the door open for you on your way out this was one of the most unique experiences I’ve had. For the first time in America I felt transported back to Japan. Aside from the food, watching chef Mori and his team prepare food is like watching art being created. The highest level of care taken with each cut of the knife and rolled ball of rice. The variety of food from the appetizer, to the sushi, to the dessert provides a journey of taste that fuses local California ingredients with traditional Japanese ingredients. The best word I can use to describe the food is beautiful because it looks beautiful and tastes wonderful. Finally, the service could not have been more attentive and personalized. If you have the chance I highly recommend experiencing Morihiro.
Amazing dinner! Omakase style dining with friendly and attentive staff. We had a wonderful time with a semi large group. Some ceramic dinnerware was hand made by chef and the customized attention to detail for every dish was stunning and very interesting. Very happy our party was able to get in and dine here!
Also congratulations on the Michelin star! We just heard about it and feel very lucky to also have that story to tell.
