Was out looking for a bite after a long day of essay writing and decided to check out Mukhtar.
Location was super easy to get to with plenty of parking and the person who greeted me was super friendly and patient as I explored their menu. The restaurant is really nice inside with plenty of seating and cool music playing at a perfect volume. I only note this because quite a few places in Northridge really like to blast music way too loud to have a comfortable bite.
Grabbed the larger portion of Shawarma bites and it was indeed a very filling portion. wrap was very pillowy and pickles were not too bitter. The chicken was really well cooked and the sauce balance was perfect. If I hadn't skipped lunch it would have probably been too much, so if you are not starving definitely get the regular size. In terms of to go presentation they were well packaged and were still nice and warm when I got home.
Now the fries I will detail separately as some people like to just grab fries and I like to highlight if a place has decent fries. This place definitely has good fries and they were fried well. They appear to be battered and maybe double fried but regardless they were well seasoned, crispy, and not too oily. They also taste great dipped into the garlic sauce which adds an awesome tang to them.
Overall this place was great and the service was fast and I would say price wise pretty fair for the area. Will definitely head back when I wanna grab some more shawarma and to check out the rest of the menu.
I tried this restaurant couple weeks ago and the shawarma wrap was amazing. I tried it again yesterday, but the shawrma wrap wasnt the same at all. The chicken pieces were thick and dry, and didnt match what I tried before. The garlic sauce needs more work. I would love to come back and try it when they go back to the original wrap they were making. inconsistencies drive customers away. I support you guys and wish you a good luck!
The place is very nice and very clean. As soon as I walked inside I was greeted by a gentleman being the counter. He helped me with my order and was very friendly. The music inside is nice and gives the vibe if being in the middle east. They have sandwiches, plates, salads, and sodas. The prices are reasonable and worth the money. I have been to many Mediterranean places and I would give this spot a 10/10 ans would come back for sure.
I randomly found this place so I had zero expectations! But I was surprised how good food is! Best falafel wrap I've ever tried in my life ! Great customer service ! Highly recommended
discovered this place right as i was moving out of the area but DAMN the food is GREAT
the shawarma plate is so juicy and flavorful, the rice so light and fluffy and that hummus so creamy and rich
the Mukhtar burger is one of the best burgers in the area and competes bite for bite with anything King's offers. the burger patty is i suspect the beef lula rolled into a burger and man do those spices come through
the wrap bites takes the shawarma plate and puts it into a bite sized roll similar to the sammiches from Costco making for a nice sharable offering
the staff is wonderfully welcoming and so helpful. i am going to hit this place every time i return to the area
