If you are from LA or Just visiting, Do not miss this Gem on Melrose Avenue. Butter chicken here is to die for. The owner is very hospitable and is passionate about serving people. Do meet him if you get a chance. Loved the Low cushion seating as well. Will definitely recommend anyone visiting.
Fantastic meal! Was looking for a great Indian restaurant in a city that doesn’t seem to have too many options, and we were pleasantly surprised. We came on a Friday night and it wasn’t overly crowded, it seems they’re new but very much worth a try. Service was superb from the start. When our appetizer of samosas came out, I could tell instantly they were prepared fresh - a delightful preview of what was to come. Nothing frozen or prepared in bulk ahead of time, everything made to order, well-spiced, and the tandoori chicken - which I often find at other establishments to be far too dry - was some of the juiciest chicken I’ve had anywhere. Fresh & authentic food, prepared with love and care, cooked to perfection. The rice pudding was also a delicious ending. My compliments to the staff, and to the owner who very kindly checked in on us. I hope they get noticed and do very well (so long as I can still get a table!).
Having lived in London for many years, I didn't think I'd be able to find good Indian food in Los Angeles.
Roots however, was like visiting a curry house back in the UK. Which is the highest compliment I can offer.
The service was impeccable. The food was excellent. The curries were very well spiced and delicious, even the starters were worth writing about, and included very good dips.
A must-visit if you're in the mood for good authentic Indian food in Los Angeles.
We saw this restaurant on our way to a different restaurant and it looked cool. So we decided to try it out, by far one of the best Indian restaurants in the LA area. The staff and management is super friendly. The food is tasteful and vibrant.
We loved our dining experience at Roots. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious too. You get a big amount of food for the money. Highly recommended. Definitely check them out!
