Saffy’s is the newest restaurant created by the geniuses behind Bestia/Bavel. Since Bavel is one of my all time favs in LA, I had high expectations for Saffy’s. Although this restaurant is relatively new, you can tell that the chefs behind the food are experts in their craft. The flavors are reminiscent of their sister restaurant Bavel as both are deeply rooted in Middle Eastern cuisine. Saffy’s dishes are inspired by elevated Israeli street food and each dish is excellent as they transcend you on a journey to the Mediterranean.

    🍽️Ordered:
    1. Hummus ful w/ challah
    2. Tomatoes w/ eggplant puree
    3. Wood-fire shawarma sandwich
    4. Grilled lobster skewer
    5. Lamb & beef kebabs w/ tahini
    6. Green falafel
    7. Bergamot chocolate cake w/ rose ganache

You know a restaurant is special when every. single. dish blows your mind. The flavors are so rich and beautifully balanced with each accompanied sauce. It’s difficult to narrow down favorites but the shawarma sandwich was unreal. The incredibly tender & smoky lamb & beef paired beautifully with the laffa + refreshing toppings. The hummus was also excellent as the deep flavors of the slow cooked fava beans complemented the fluffy challah so well.

    💡Tips:
-parking around the restaurant is sparse, valet parking is $10
-order extra challah for the hummus/dips esp for large groups, 2 is not enough!
-try as many dishes as possible, I’m convinced there is no bad dish here

    💰Price:
    -$80/90 per person

If I could I would give this restaurant a 100 stars. The food was just incredible. The team at Bestia and Bavel have done it again!!

We ordered the falafel, hummus ful, lobster, lamb and chicken skewers and the chocolate cake. Everything was amazing but my favorite was the hummus and the chicken skewers.

I thought my fav was the chicken until I ordered the chocolate cake. I have no idea how they make the cake but it was the best cake I've ever had. Minimally dense with the perfect amount of frosting!!

My wine pairing was the chilled red with the appetizers and then the temparnillo with th skewers and my wife had the orange wine with apps and the chilled red with lobster!!

Incredible ambiance and incredible food. We will definitely be back!!

Bestia and Bavel have a new sister and she’s pretty amazing. This restaurant is trendy and buzzing with energy. Walk ins are allowed! The Middle Eastern menu is pretty small but different from Bavel.
The turmeric mussels are flavorful, the sauce very good for dipping. The hummus ful came with soft egg and a really delicious toasted challah bread with sesame seeds. The yellow fin crudo was light and tasty. The pork and chicken shishlik and shawarma were nicely prepared. My favorite is the grilled lobster skewer with green harissa.
The drinks were refreshing, the chocolate cake was rich and wonderful. The crème caramel was underwhelming.
The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. This is a nice place to bring both friends and family.

A friend recommended this place to us. He claimed that it lives rent free in his mind from how good it was.

After hyping it up so much, we had to try it.

MAKE A RESERVATION. This place opens times one month in advance, and times go FAST. Even a month out, almost all times are taken.

We got lucky with a last minute cancellation and we’re able to come here.

They have valet parking for $10 which is honestly great. Very convenient and the valet staff are helpful and friendly.

We were seated quickly and a waitress helped us choose our menu.

We started off with their green falafel and their hummus tahini with challah bread.

Let me say that this was the BEST falafel as well as the BEST hummus I’ve ever had in my entire life. I’m not exaggerating.

The falafel was so moist and soft, and it was served upon a layer of spiced yogurt, a spicy beet reduction, and a sweet mango purée. It was absolutely stunning in presentation and in taste.

The hummus was covered half in paprika, had a big dollop of a fresh mint chutney on the side, and finished with olive oil and parsley. It was served with 2 big pieces of the softest and most delicious bread I’ve ever had (challah bread). This was without a doubt the best hummus I’ve ever experienced. Incredible flavor, great balance, and I would have eaten 10 more of these if I could!

We then had the main course of a few of their skewers. We got their chicken skewer and their lamb skewer with sweet peppers. This came with a big piece of bread (laffa) and a yogurt, mint, and parsley sauce. It also came with a side of chili crunch oil!

The chicken was chicken thigh and so incredibly tender and juicy. It was amazing eating each piece with a piece of bread, some of the tangy yogurt and mint sauce, and topped with an incredible crunch of spicy chili oil.

We also got the lamb skewer with sweet peppers. This lamb was so flavorful. It continued to cook while it was on the skewer at our table, giving a nice charred and crispy outside yet being super soft on the inside.

Honestly, this was one of those restaurant experiences that you’ll never forget. This will now live rent free in my mind forever. Every dish here was incredible if not the best I’ve ever had. Staff were so gracious and welcoming. And we had an absolutely stunning meal from start to finish.

I will definitely come back here in the future any chance I can get a reservation!
